We try to manage and develop the schools in such a way, that our pupils and parents find a safe, clean, interesting and encouraging environment. We all believe in an active learning approach and want to offer a real intercultural experience. Certainly most of the daily matters and questions which arise, can be directly solved with the respective subject or form teachers. If not, then the directors are happy to help or forward a request for analysis and decision to the Management Board of the governing body. Contracts, invoices and any kind of development, cooperation and representation of the schools are taken care by the board.
Until class P4, most of the subjects are integrated and taught by the form teacher of the class, in the early years supported by assistant teachers. From class P5, the form teachers still have certain hours/blocks with the class and are the primary point of contact for pupils and parents until class P4 in case of any requests or issues - and from class P5, if the matter cannot be settled for any reason with the respective subject teacher. If the form teacher cannot help, then the directors should be involved.
Already in the early years, pupils learn mother tongue and physical education with a subject teacher. From class P5, due to the higher specialization most of the subjects are taught by specific subject teachers. The largest groups of subject teachers at SAIL International School are STEAM teachers and language teachers. Pupils or parents are invited to discuss important matters regarding a subject with the specific teacher. If a matter cannot be settled, e.g. because it is beyond the subject teacher's area of responsibility, then the form teacher should be involved and, if necessary, the directors thereafter.
