LABOtwórnia –
design,
cut,
experiment!

LABOtwórnia is an innovative project of the SAIL Foundation, aimed at introducing modern teaching methods to schools through the use of CNC technology, laser engraving, and 3D printing.

The initiative was implemented as part of the “Explorers” program of the Ministry of Education.

Lesson plans – free for schools

As part of the project, ready-made lesson plans were developed and are made available free of charge to all schools interested in developing STEM competencies. These materials are intended for students in grades 7–8 of primary school and high school, and support the development of the following skills:

  • creative and critical thinking,
  • project-based work in a digital environment,
  • fundamentals of robotics and electronics (Arduino),
  • 3D design and AI-supported modeling.
Equipment and space for experiments

Thanks to the implementation of the project, the SAIL Foundation has equipped the LABOtwórnia with modern equipment such as:

  • laser plotters, a CNC milling machine, and 3D printers,
  • Laptops with CAD/CAM software,
  • Arduino kits with accessories,
  • materials for conducting interdisciplinary experiments.

It is precisely these resources that create a space where students can design, cut, experiment, and explore the world of science through hands-on practice.

Workshops for schools

Classes as part of the project take place both on-site at the SAIL Foundation headquarters and as outreach sessions—directly in schools. This allows students and teachers from various parts of Poland to benefit from the LABOtwórnia’s resources.

The project has generated tremendous interest—and thanks to the support of the Ministry of National Education, 14 schools and over a quarter of a thousand students were able to participate this semester. Unfortunately, we were not able to accommodate everyone. If you are interested in future project initiatives, please let us know—we will keep you in mind.

Library of education models

In addition to the available lesson plans, an open library of educational models is also being created. This collection of ready-to-use materials and projects can be used in science and nature classes. The library will be continuously developed to support schools in modern STEM education.

Why is it valuable?

LABOtwórnia is a modern response to the needs of today’s schools. It combines technology with didactics, opening up entirely new opportunities for students and teachers—from experimenting and creative design to the conscious use of digital tools.

The project was financed as part of the task “LABOtwórnia – design, cut, experiment!” implemented under the “Explorers” program of the Minister of Education (2025).
