SAIL High School, students chart their own course through a world of academic
choice and opportunity.
They may pursue a holistic pathway toward the Cambridge
ICE and AICE Diplomas or specialise in their chosen fields from over 50
Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level subjects — each step a two-year voyage leading to
globally recognised qualifications.
In Years 3 and 4 of Polish General High School, the holistic core program is gradually reduced, giving students the opportunity to select extended-level subjects that match their interests and to prepare for the Matura exams in core and elective subjects - or, alternatively, for international high school diplomas recognized both in Poland and abroad.
At SAIL, we support students in reaching their full potential and qualifying for top universities worldwide, regardless of their proficiency in Polish language or mathematics - whether they follow the holistic pathway by pursuing the prestigious Cambridge AICE Diploma, or specialize freely from more than 55 rigorous, internationally recognized Cambridge A Levels.

For some learners, however, a more specialized path — such as the A-levels — is the right fit, allowing them to focus deeply on their strongest subjects. This approach can be ideal for students with clear academic or career goals, or for those who excel in one field and prefer not to be limited by a holistic exam structure. At SAIL, we support both paths, recognizing that every student’s strengths and aspirations are unique.
As a registered high school in Poland, SAIL delivers the full core programme of subjects required by law, guaranteeing compliance with national educational standards. The number of weekly hours gradually decreases from Class H1 through Class H4, reflecting the transition toward more specialised study. A detailed list of all subjects and weekly hours is available in the timetables for each class.
In addition to the core curriculum, students also have access to elective courses — such as Health Education, Catholic Religion, or Ethics — offered according to their interests and our school profile.
In the final two years of SAIL High School, students can opt for the Cambridge International A- and AS-level pathways, allowing for specialization in chosen fields matching their personal interests and strengths. This internationally respected qualification develops in-depth subject knowledge, independent learning skills, and academic rigour — key attributes for success at top universities worldwide.
For those seeking a broader, holistic experience, the Cambridge AICE Diploma brings together advanced studies across sciences, humanities, languages, and creative arts, with Global Perspectives & Research at its core and the option to explore interdisciplinary subjects. This flexible program ensures that every student can follow their best path — whether aiming for in-depth expertise or a well-rounded, internationally minded education.
At SAIL, students receive personalized guidance in choosing their A- and AS-Level subjects, helping them balance personal strengths, university requirements, and a manageable study workload — whether learning happens in class, online, or through self-study. With over 55 exam subjects to choose from, our students enjoy the flexibility to shape a curriculum that matches both their ambitions and the standards of universities worldwide, which typically require three distinct A-Levels for admission.
While we encourage a holistic approach, we recognize that early specialization can be the right choice for students with a clear vision. That’s why, in partnership with Pomeranian Medical University and the Maritime University, SAIL offers specific pathways for those pursuing careers in medicine or the dynamic green energy sector.
At SAIL High School, assessment follows the Polish 1–6 grading system, where 1 is the lowest and 6 the highest. Students receive individual grades for each subject, reflecting both achievement and ongoing effort. A variety of fair and transparent assessment methods are used — including tests, short quizzes, homework, oral participation, classroom activity, projects, and additional assignments, depending on the subject. The assessment methods and their weighting are presented by each subject teacher at the beginning of the school year.
At the end of each semester, students receive a comprehensive report card with grades and detailed teacher comments for every subject. Parent–Teacher Meetings are offered twice each semester to ensure close communication and support. In the final year (H4), students may also choose to take Cambridge International examinations or the Polish Matura exam, though neither is obligatory for SAIL students.
Assessment at the Cambridge AS & A Level stage is based on a series of up to four examination papers or coursework components per subject, evaluating understanding, analysis, and application rather than rote memorisation. Each subject is graded A–E at AS Level (usually 1 year course) and A*–E at A Level (2 years). Students may sit exams in either or both levels during the June and November sessions, and can retake any subject to improve their results — there is no limit on attempts.
Learners may combine their studies to pursue the Cambridge AICE Diploma, which rewards both depth and breadth across disciplines — Mathematics & Sciences, Languages, Arts & Humanities, and Interdisciplinary Studies, with Global Perspectives & Research as its core requirement. To achieve the Diploma, students must earn at least seven credits, with A Levels counting as two credits and AS Levels as one.
Successful candidates receive the Diploma at one of three distinction levels — Pass, Merit, or Distinction — depending on their overall score.
At SAIL, we believe that education extends beyond academics — shaping each student’s personal, moral, social, and cultural growth. The Behaviour Grading System applies from P5 through H4 and supports these values through a fair and transparent points-based system. Students earn or lose points for their actions and engagement, as outlined in the school’s Internal Grading Policy.
Behaviour grades are reviewed at the end of each semester alongside academic evaluations. The form teacher assigns the final grade based on the total points and in consultation with the teacher council, ensuring that every assessment is balanced and consistent.
Behaviour grades are included in the semester classification and appear on each student’s semester report, reflecting their overall contribution to the school community.
