SAIL Kindergarten

At SAIL International School, our kindergarten department is a place where curiosity sets sail and young minds begin their lifelong learning journey. From the age of three, children are welcomed into our safe harbor - a joyful, caring environment led by an international team that blends play, exploration, and the development of essential skills to prepare every young SAILor for the journey ahead.

Learning Stages

In Poland, preschool education can begin as early as 2.5 years of age. We usually accept three-year-old children into the younger group. Kindergarten is not compulsory, but recommended - especially in international settings.

Compulsory preschool education begins by the age of 6, the so-called zero-class in Poland. In the Cambridge curriculum, this class marks already the first school year. At SAIL, we follow the Cambridge numeration (P1), as shown in the table.

Small international Groups

Our kindergarten brings together children from a wide variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. To support each child’s individual development, groups are intentionally kept small, with around 16 children and never more than 20. This allows our teachers to give every child the individual attention, care and learning support they need.

Children are placed into groups with great care, taking into account both their age and their intellectual and social development. We usually offer a younger group for children aged 3-4 and an older group for children aged 4-5.

Our warm and attentive teaching team, coming from four continents, creates a truly international environment. As a general principle, we aim for no more than 50% of children in a group to come from the same country, helping to build an open, diverse and genuinely global community.

Daily Time Schedule

Learning takes place each day in three playful and practical learning blocks. At the same time, the daily rhythm remains flexible and is adapted to the children’s age, concentration and individual needs.

Beyond the core learning time, children may stay in the kindergarten from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. During this time, they can enjoy supervised play, spend time with friends in day care, or take part in extracurricular activities such as dance or piano. The selection of clubs and activities is set at the beginning of each school year.

Learning Voyage

In the younger group for children aged 3-4, we focus on helping every child feel safe, settled and happy in kindergarten. Through play, stories, music, movement and creative activities, children develop language, early mathematical thinking, social confidence, coordination and growing independence in a warm and caring environment.

In the older group for children aged 4-5, children become more confident, curious and ready for new challenges. Through engaging themes, practical activities and guided discovery, they strengthen communication, early literacy, mathematical thinking, cooperation and concentration while building the skills they will need for the next stage of learning.

One of the greatest gifts of the early years
is the ability to absorb language naturally.
In our kindergarten, English is part of everyday life.
Children hear and use it in play, stories, songs, routines
and daily conversations with teachers and friends.
As a result, they do not simply learn English in lessons,
but begin to live with it naturally and confidently.

This creates a rare opportunity for a child
to grow up bilingually from the very beginning.

Early bilingual development can have a lasting positive effect
on communication, confidence, learning and openness to different people and cultures. It is one of the
defining strengths of our kindergarten
and a foundation that can benefit children
for many years to come.

Klasy

Empatyczny, zaangażowany zespół nauczycielski

Nasze Przedszkole i Młodsze Klasy Szkoły Podstawowej to ciepła i tętniąca życiem społeczność, w której dzieci z całego świata uczą się, bawią i rozwijają razem, otoczone opieką naszego oddanego zespołu nauczycieli z czterech kontynentów.

Międzynarodowi koledzy i koleżanki
